Prime Minister Dorin Recean has proposed Petru Rotaru to replace Veronica Sirețeanu  as Minister of Finance, announced the Government’s spokesperson Daniel Vodă.

“Petru Rotaru knows the public finance system well and has showed good results in his activity as head of the State Tax Service. I want to thank Veronica Sirețeanu for her effort in ensuring and managing the appropriate financing of government policies. Together we will continue to work to ensure financial stability and to promote the economic development of the country”, said Dorin Recean.

Veronica Sirețeanu has held the post since February 2023, when the Recean Government was inaugurated. She is going on maternity leave.

Petru Rotaru was appointed to the State Tax Service in March 2023.
