Swimmer Tatiana Salcuțan won a gold medal at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games. The athlete from Tiraspol emerged victorious in the 200 meter backstroke with the result of 2:10.13, IPN reports.
Salcuțan outperformed Canada’s Madison Broad (2:10.32) and Australia’s Kaylee McKeown (2:10.67). One day earlier, the swimmer trained by Yevgeny Karabetski ranked eighth in the 100 meter breaststroke.
Earlier, only canoeist Sergey Tarnovski won gold for Moldova at the Youth Olympic Games. He brought a medal from Nanjing in 2014.
