Presidential election candidate Vasile Tarlev, the leader of the Future of Moldova Party, suggests establishing an International Financial Center in Moldova by the example of Switzerland and Singapore, IPN reports.
By creating such an institution, Tarlev says, the state can become involved in regulating the activities of residents by constituting a supervisory board consisting of representatives of the authorities and international experts.
The former prime minister is convinced that due to its strategic and geographical position, the Republic of Moldova has potential. In a post on his Facebook page, the candidate said that “he has already attracted specialists with experience in creating such legal zones in Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and the United Arab Emirates.”
The program to develop the Republic of Moldova proposed by Vasile Tarlev is based on economic liberalization and investment attraction, education and human capital, diversification of the economy and implementation of technology projects in the financial sector.
