Supreme Court of Justice to pronounce on PCRM’s application today
The Supreme Court of Justice today, July 4, will examine the Communist Party (PCRM)’s application to transfer the case concerning the validation of the seat of Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca from the Chisinau Court of Appeals to another appeals court.
The PCRM’s representative Sergiu Sarbu has told Info-Prim Neo that the sides will not attend the hearing. The court’s decision will be announced later.
On July 1, the PCRM asked transferring the case, arguing that the judges of the Chisinau Court of Appeals take political decisions and are nor impartial. There are five appeals courts in Moldova - in Chisinau, Balti, Comrat, Cahul, and Bender.
The Communist Party challenges the results of the mayoral runoff in Chisinau and demands rerunning the elections.
