Support for educational and agricultural sectors

Teachers will be able to work after hours and will get pay for the done work. By derogation from the law on the common salary system in the public sector, the Government approved such a norm in a move to stimulate the teaching staff, IPN reports.

Also, as a result of discussions with agricultural producers, including in Moldova’s districts, the Government approved a bill to create more favorable conditions for applying to the interest subsidization program and the VAT refund program intended for agricultural producers affected by natural disasters. The condition to pay salary taxes for benefitting from VAT refund will be excluded, while the VAT refund period will be shortened from 25 to 15 days.

The paid interest will be subsidized regardless of the time when the loan was taken out and a moratorium will be imposed on tax inspections at agricultural producers until December 31, 2020.

The measures are designed for the agricultural producers that benefit from compensations for alleviating the natural consequences on the harvest of 2020.

“As in the case of the financial support offered to agricultural producers, the goal is to enable them to work and to ensure the country’s food security given the drought and other calamities that affected the sector,” said Deputy Prime Minister Sergiu Pușcuța, Minister of Finance.
