Sunflower oil producers have reasonably increased selling price of oil
The producers of sunflower oil have raised the selling price of oil justifiably, Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon said at the meeting of the Governmental Commission for Emergences on November 15.
According to him, the rise in the price of oil was determined by the increase in the price of raw material. The raw material makes up over 65% of the finished product. Given that the price of sunflower rose from 3 lei to 6.5 – 7 lei per kg, the price of the finished product also increased, the minister said. The selling price of a litre of oil from producer varies between 18 and 19 lei at present.
Though the analysis carried out by the Economy Ministry showed that there were no serious deviations from the price formation procedure in the production sector, Igor Dodon said that the prices in certain retail outlets were increased unjustly. The minister said that sets of rules will be needed to regulate the activity of sellers.
At the same meeting, Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev ordered the creation of a working group that will investigate the abuses committed by traders, who will be held accountable. “We do not want to decrease the revenues or make somebody work at a loss, but the prices should be increased in compliance with the legislation, especially of basic necessities,” the Premier said.
The prices of oil and vegetal and animal fats from industrial producers rose by 21.8% this September.
