Sun Communications launches fixed-line phone service
Sun Communications announced the launch of the fixed-line telephone service SunVoice at a news conference in September 16, Info -Prim Neo reports.
The service will be accessible only in Chisinau. Connection is free of charge.
When connected, the client will receive a six-digit phone number and the basic package Standard, which costs 30 lei a month. It includes unlimited conversations within the SunVoice network and 300 minutes outside the network.
John Maxemchuk, the company's director general, said that the size of the monthly subscription of the Standard package will depend on the number of Sun Communications services used. If the clients use three services – SunVoice, SunInternet and Sun TVDigital, they will benefit from a 15% reduction for life on all the three monthly subscriptions. The reduction for two services will be 10%.
The international and interurban calls made under the Standard package will be charged separately. Sun Communications provides international packages to the most popular destinations: Directly to Russia – 0.71 lei per minute from the mobile and fixed-line phone; Directly to Moscow and Saint Petersbourg – 0.33 lei per minute, from the fixed-line phone; Directly to Europe – 0.33 lei per minute, from the fixed-line phone; and Directly to the U.S. and Canada – 0.50 lei per per minute, from the mobile and fixed-line phone.
Furthermore, the subscribers to SunVoice will benefit from 19 free additional services, including the identification of the number, answering machine, conference between three persons, the exact time, the redirection of the calls, alarm clock and others.
Maxemchuk said that Sun Communications was affected by the crisis to a certain extent, but the managerial team is disposed to mobilize its efforts and implement the new technology.
He also said that despite the crisis the company continues to invest money. Besides the US$1 million invested in the new service, it directed over US$3 million to improve and modernize the Internet services and US$1 million to launch services through optic fiber in the municipality of Chisinau.
Sun Communications has worked in Moldova since 1993. It started work in Chisinau and then extended to Balti and Cahul, in 2007. Currently, it has about 125,000 subscribers.
