Students to enjoy extra medical care in education establishments

Medical personnel working in educational establishments will have an increased workload as the Government this week approved the list of additional medical services offered for schoolchildren and students, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Health Minister Larisa Catrinici, these services will not overlap with those provided in outpatient clinics and specialized health care facilities and covered by the mandatory health insurance.
“Additional medical services for students are needed to improve the conditions in which the future generation is being raised and also to foster a responsible attitude towards the benefits of health”, said the minister.
This list includes prophylactic care, disinfection for communicable disease prevention, emergency care. It also contains a training course on Health Education, including trauma prevention and STD avoidance.
The new measures are expected to be put into practice starting from the new school year.
