Stefan Uratu: Presidential elections will be rigged

The presidential elections will most probably be rigged, Stefan Uratu, ex-member of the Central Election Commission, stated in the talk show “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

“A number of violations were committed. The impossibility of starting the election campaign simultaneously put the candidates in unequal conditions. The vote is being fixed in a centralized way as vote rigging was ordered from up. The way in which the posts of CEC member were filled makes us believe that the presidential elections will be rigged,” said the former CEC member.

Stefan Uratu stated that they conducted their own investigations and established that the number of voters in particular settlements increases suddenly at new elections. “We determined that the number of voters in some of the settlements is larger than the number of inhabitants. Against their will, thousands of persons are put on the electoral registers of other settlements, offering them thus the possibility of voting for several times,” he said.

Stefan Uratu also said that they informed the Prosecutor General’s Office about this, but the prosecutors didn’t react. “They are probably afraid,” he stated.
