Ștefan Gligor: We have Parliament and Government and should ensure taking over of institutions

Public policy expert Ștefan Gligor said the Republic of Moldova has a Parliament and a Government and the Moldovan citizens should ensure the passing on of the ministries and state agencies to the newly formed Government. The investiture of the new Government is not a complete victory, but is a confrontation and the victory should be confirmed, IPN reports.

In a talk show on ProTV Chisinau channel, the expert said things can degenerate very quickly and such a development is wanted neither by the Democratic Party, as this will have consequences for it, nor by the alliance formed in Parliament.

Expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” Veaceslav Berbeca said the situation is not yet clear. The PDM and its supporters are trying to oppose the transfer of power to the new parliamentary majority. “What happened today shows that things haven’t been clarified yet and a final decision is to be taken the next few days,” he stated, noting he would like this transfer of power to take place peacefully, without clashes.

On June 8, after the PSRM and the Bloc ACUM formed a parliamentary majority, the new Government headed by Maia Sandu was invested. Andrei Năstase was appointed minister of the interior. At the same time, the Constitutional Court rule the investiture of the Government was unconstitutional and passed a judgment saying the Parliament elected on February 24 should be dissolved.
