State to certify communication skills in Romanian of high school students

The state will certify the communication skills in Romanian of high school students. The Cabinet approved a draft law to amend the Education Code in this regard, IPN reports.

Also, high school students, who studied in a language of national minorities and had their language skills in Romanian, level B2, certified, will be able to get grade 10 automatically at the Baccalaureate exam in Romanian.

Under the draft law, the communication skills in Romanian of high school students will be assessed according to unified national standard methods.

Over 191,000 lei is needed to implement this legislative initiative. The costs will be covered by the Ministry of Education and Research. The money will be used to work out examination materials, to assess written and oral tests.

Annually, around 400 citizens will participate in the sessions to the assess communication skills in Romanian.
