The incomes of the state social insurances budget for 2008 will be 6.41 billion lei, that is 159 million more than in the initially endorsed draft. The government has endorsed modifications to the state social insurances budget for 2008, on Monday, December 8, Info-Prim Neo reports. The budget will increase its expenditures by 98.7 million lei. This means that its incomes will exceed the expenditures by 41.5 million lei. According to Tatiana Popa, the deputy chief of the Social Insurances National Corporation, the income hikes were determined because of overspending the Budget for the first semester of this year, as more beneficiaries from the state's social assistance appeared throughout the year. Thus, on November 1, 2008, 453,544 pensioners and 127,794 invalids were registered. The modifications are to obtain the parliament’s approval.
