The State Road Administration bought 28,000 tonnes of technical salt and 40,000 tonnes of sand of the 80,000 tonnes of antiskid material needed for winter. Compared with last year, the reserves will be by 20,000 tonnes larger.

Contacted by IPN, the head of the Road Maintenance Division Petru Triboi said that 80 million lei was allocated from the state budget for maintaining the national and local roads this winter.

As many as 479 snowplowing machines are ready for work. If additional machines are needed, specialized companies will provide another 150 units under the contracts signed by the State Road Administration with them.

Petru Triboi said that seven loaders to the value of about 13 million lei will be purchased by the end of this year. They will be used to unblock roads.
