The electors included in the State Register of Voters on August 1 totaled 3 286 304. Of all the voters, 2 807 728 are part of territorial-administrative units of the second level, IPN reports.
Acceding to the Central Election Commission, the difference represents the persons who have the nationality of the Republic of Moldova, but do not have registration at the place of domicile or residence, those who emigrated in an authorized way (229 570 persons) and citizens with the right to vote whose domicile is registered in the territorial-administrative units situated on the left side of Nistru, which are temporarily outside the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova (249 006).
The State Register of Voters is a single integrated information system of voters of the Republic of Moldova that collects, stores, updates and analyzes the information about Moldovan citizens, including those from abroad, who turned 18 and do not have legal bans on voting.
The Register is constituted based on the State Population Register and is continuously updated with data provided by the Public Services Agency, the Ministry of Justice and the local public authorities. The voter is put on the electoral list of the local polling place, according to the domicile or residence address. As a user of the State Register of Voters, the voter can find out the address and number of the polling station where they can vote by introducing the identification number of the person indicated in the identity card.
