The state of public health emergency is annulled as of April 16, in almost two years after it was decreed in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, as the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission decided on April 15. The new cases of COVID-19 the past two months decreased from 754 to 34 per 100,000 people. Most of the regions of the country are under green epidemiological alert, IPN reports.
Together with the lifting of the public health emergency, all the epidemiological restrictions are removed. Starting with April 16, the wearing of masks will no longer be mandatory, but is further recommended in closed places and public transport.
“It is important to obey the hygiene rules and to have a responsible social behavior in case symptoms of respiratory infections appear. COVID-19 didn’t disappear and the citizens are urged to get vaccinated so as to be protected from the serious forms caused by the virus,” it is said in a press release of the Government.
