The Palace of the Republic on June 16 will host a gala concert entitled “Stars of World Ballet”. According to the organizers, people’s artists Alexei and Cristina Terentiev, the concert is designed to attract talented young dancers to the Choreography College and to familiarize the Moldovan public with solo dancers who were born and studied in Moldova and obtained results on the stage of the world, IPN reports.
“We want to present our choreography school. We have teachers who educate ballet stars that can later perform all over the world. We are glad that we have a school and have artists here, but many of these do not return home to perform. Many of the soloists will dance for the public at home for the first time,” stated Cristina Terentiev.
The performance will feature emeritus artists of the Republic of Moldova Maria Poliudova and Vladimir Statnyi, soloist of the Vienna opera Mihail Sosnovski, emeritus artist of the Republic of Moldova who represents Milan Nadejda Cotet, first solo dancer of the Russian Imperial Ballet Liliana Sheveleova, first solo dancer of the Berlin’s State Ballet of Berlin Alexei Orlenko and many others.
Alexei Terentiev said the spectators will be able to enjoy choreographic masterpieces from the ballets “La Corsair”, “La Sylphide”, “Don Quijote”, “The Nutcracker”, “Giselle”, “Tarantella” and others. Students of the Choreography College will also perform, under the guidance of emeritus artist of Moldova Iurie Madan.
Director of the Palace of the Republic Nicolae Dumbrava said the Palace’s stage is being prepared for meeting the requirements of such an event. “I think such an event is awaited by our spectators. It is something special for them and for the artists who will perform,” he stated.
