Spring temperatures in mid-winter

From January 6-10, the weather forecast calls for a period of stable weather without significant precipitation. The wind will blow from the south, with light to moderate intensity. Temperatures will rise gradually, especially at night, IPN reports.

During the following days, there will be an increase in the maximum temperature, which will reach +8°C...+13°C on January 7, then +10°C...+16°C in the following days. In the south of the country, temperatures will vary between +9°C and +7°C, while in the center of the country they will be between +7°C and +5°C.

January 7 (Tuesday): Temperatures will continue to rise. During the night, temperatures will be between -2°C and +3°C, and during the day it will reach +8°C...+13°C. Winds will remain moderate and skies will be partly cloudy. In the south of the country, temperatures will reach +9°C and +7°C in the center.

January 8 (Wednesday): Temperatures will continue to rise. Temperatures will be between 0°C and +5°C at night and warmer during the day, with highs between +10°C and +16°C. Winds will be light and skies will be variable with no precipitation.

January 9 (Thursday): The weather will remain pleasant, with highs between +10°C and +16°C. At night, temperatures will range between 0°C and +5°C. Winds will be moderate and skies will be partly cloudy. No precipitation is expected.

January 10 (Friday): It will be a mild wintry day, with temperatures up to +16°C in the south and +13°C in the center of the country. At night, temperatures will remain between 0°C and +5°C. Winds will remain light and skies will be variable. Weather conditions will remain stable.

As for the hydrological forecast, the authorities warn that on January 7-9, rising temperatures will lead to gradual melting of ice on rivers and lakes. On the Nistru river, in the Naslavcea-Dubasari sector, the water level will vary by about 10 cm, and in the Dubasari-Răscăieți sector, it will rise by 20-40 cm. On the Prut River, in the Leuseni-Cahul sector, the water level will rise by about 10 cm. On the other sections of the Nistru and Prut rivers, the hydrological regime will not change significantly.

The authorities warn that traveling on frozen waters can be extremely dangerous and can have serious consequences.
