Over 40 needy families from 15 localities in Șoldănești district received donations within the campaign "The Spirit of Christmas in every home". The initiative was carried out by the public association ProActive Group Moldova in cooperation with the Șoldănești Police Inspectorate, IPN reports.
According to the organizers, more than 30 families and 10 elderly people received food, clothes and toys. For 3 days, the organizers, together with teams of police officers, went to each household.
"The team was the engine of all initiatives and, without the dedication and involvement of each member, we would not have been able to get where we wanted," Victor Babchinetski, founder and director of ProActive Group Moldova, has told IPN.
Within the campaign, the wish of a child whose story touched the organizers the most was fulfilled. Thus, a 10-year-old boy from Parcani village of Șoldănești district received a bicycle as a gift.
"The boy, who lives only with his father, turned 10 years old on Christmas Day and we managed to fulfill his wish," added the leader of ProActive Group Moldova.
The "Spirit of Christmas in every home" campaign is at its first edition. The initiative was supported by a number of economic agents operating in Șoldănești district, as well as by individuals, who contributed money and food products.
