Speakers of Chisinau and Moscow are for stipulating interparliamentary contacts
Speaker of Chisinau Parliament Marian Lupu and Speaker of Russian State Duma Boris Grizlov are willing to provide inter-parliamentary contacts at all levels. The two officials had a work meeting as part of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and on the occasion of the 27-th plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in Sankt-Peterburg in the period from 15 to 16 November.
According to a press release from the Parliament, during the meetings held with Grizlov and Serghei Mironov, head of the Council of the Russian Federal Assembly, interlocutors have tackled multiple aspects of the Moldovan-Russian bilateral relations, as well as their perspectives as a result of the meeting of the speakers of the two states.
Speakers pleaded for the stimulation of the interparliamentary contacts at all levels. They paid special attention to the activity of Moldovan-Russian Commission for parliamentary cooperation. The sides convened the Commission’s sitting to be held in Chisinau in the nearest time, initiating the respective consultations.
In the context, Marian Lupu reiterated the invitation addressed to the Russian officials to visit Moldova.
Interlocutors called on the necessity to extend and diversify the agenda of the bilateral parliamentary dialogue, including also subjects related to the issue of the Transnistrian dispute.
