Photovoltaic power stations will be installed in Rădeni commune of Strășeni district and in Negureni commune of Telenești district. Draft decisions in this regard were approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.

Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu said that the installation of a power plant with a capacity of more than 20 MW or the increase of the capacity of an existing power plant are being authorized in accordance with the procedure stipulated in the regulations on the construction/reconstruction of power plants approved by the Cabinet.

According to him, the applicants asked the Ministry of Energy to authorize the installation of photovoltaic power stations, providing also the documentation justifying the intention to build the power plants.

Thus, a solar power plant with an installed power of 50 MW will be put up in Rădeni and a power plant with an installed power of 40 MW will be built on the outskirts of Negureni.

It is estimated that the power plants will be put into operation by the end of this year.
