A 32-year-old man was detained by investigation officers in Ialoveni and is under criminal investigation for committing a number of thefts from four private companies based in Răzeni. The individual stole solar panels, over 2,000 meters of solar cable, lighting fixtures and over 680 meters of electrical cable. The total damage exceeds 100,000 lei, IPN reports.
The General Police Inspectorate said that the man acted at night, then used taxi services or acquaintances, with whose cars he transported the stolen goods, then sold them in Chisinau.
During searches carried out at the home of the suspect and his concubine in Căușeni district, a part of the stolen goods and other evidence proving the man's involvement in the commission of crimes were seized.
The man, who was previously tried for similar acts, is under arrest.
The suspect faces a fine of up to 67,500 lei, at most 240 hours of community service or a maximum of four years in prison.
