With the result obtained by the candidate of the Socialist Party in Chisinau, the PSRM strengthens its positions. At the same time, the governing coalition will not have to suffer for this reason. This is the opinion of political commentator Victor Ciobanu. Former MP Stela Jantuan claims that after yesterday's result, which shows that Ion Ceban won the victory at the capital's City Hall with 52.39% of the votes, ACUM bloc must analyse their mistakes very thoroughly, IPN reports.
"At the Government level, the Socialists could claim certain ministries, I do not see any reason why ACUM would not cede certain ministries to them, also making Government reforms which are currently required because the previous one achieved by the PDM was unsuccessful ", declared Victor Ciobanu on "Politics of Natalia Morari" program, TV8. In his opinion, President Igor Dodon has a large stake in the appointment of the Prosecutor General and this is the game to be played now. The commentator believes that the next moves will be related to this context. At the same time, Victor Ciobanu thinks that after the victory of the Socialists in the capital, the governing alliance will not be affected as neither side of the coalition is interested in early parliamentary elections.
Former MP Stela Jantuan is of the opinion that ACUM bloc must consider very seriously the fact that for the first time in recent years the right-wing parties have "donated" the capital to the left-wing parties. "The tradition that Chisinau belongs to the right-wing parties has been broken ". ACUM bloc must analyse its mistakes that contributed to this result, on the communication part, first at the governmental level, which has its effects at the local level as well”, the former deputy mentioned.
In her opinion, the Dignity and Truth Platform Party has more vulnerable positions as compared to the Action and Solidarity Party. "It is a lesson to be learned by Mr. Nastase, the leader of PPDA. As current Minister of the Interior, he must also revise his working methods and results he wants to achieve. I believe that this has also led to his voters’ disappointment,” stressed Stela Jantuan.
Executive director of ADEPT Association Igor Botan is of the opinion that once Ion Ceban has won the elections in Chisinau, the Socialists must overcome the tense situation created between the ACUM bloc and the PSRM.
After yesterday's elections, November 3, the Socialist Ion Ceban won the race for mayor of Chisinau with 52.39% of the votes. Andrei Nastase lost with 47.61% of the votes.
