The councilors of the Party of Socialists ask to immediately convene a meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). Among the issues that are to be examined in the meeting is the approval of taxes for the next year and of the 2017 municipal budget, IPN reports.

The Socialist councilors demand that the extraordinary meeting of the CMC should be called for October 13. The agenda is to include the presentation of a report on the fulfillment of the municipal budget for the first nine months of this year.

The councilors are to also examine and approve the draft municipal budget for 2017 and the draft decision on local taxes for the next year. According to the Socialist councilors, the proposed agenda also includes social issues concerning the preparations for the heating season, provision of cold-month allowances, etc.

In another development, the Socialist councilors referred to several cases when the local administration of Chisinau sold municipal plots of land at derisory prices. They said that these illegalities are to be debated in the meeting.
