Social-Democrats join parties asking for signing Minor Frontier Traffic Convention

The Moldovan Social-Democratic Party (PSD) demands the Governments of Moldova and Romania to insist over the European Union to annul the visa regime for Moldovan citizens, Info-Prim Neo reports. The PSD leader, Dumitru Braghis, told a news conference on Wednesday, May 14, the recent statements by the Moldovan Government about extending the scope of the Convention on the minor frontier traffic over entire Moldova told of superficially tackling the issue. It is an attempt to further tergiversate signing the document, Dumitru Braghis has said. PSD qualifies the Government's actions as neglecting the Moldovan citizens' interests and problems. Dumitru Braghis asks the Government to accept and sign the Convention, and then to ask the EU authorities and the Romanian Government to seek for possibilities of abolishing the visa regime for Moldovan citizens willing to travel to Romania. The Social-Democrats announce they will notify the Romanian authorities and will ask for the support of the Social Democratic Party from Romania, and other parties of the same orientation form EU countries to promote this idea.
