The Central Electoral Commission received requests for registration from six initiative groups supporting candidates for president. The Commission is due to issue a decision within 3 days.

Today requests were submitted by the initiative groups of ex-foreign minister Tudor Ulianovschi, Our Party president Renato Usatîi, and ex-governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah.

Also, the Coalition for Unity and Welfare requested the registration of its initiative group to support the politician and diplomat Igor Munteanu, as the Action and Solidarity Party supports Maia Sandu for re-election. There is also an initiative group for a non-affiliated candidate called Ludmila Corsun.

The CEC started accepting requests for registration on August 21. On the first two days, a total of eleven initiative groups sought registration.
