Four education institutions and two medical institutions of the Republic of Moldova will implement social projects with grants totaling over US$510,000 provided by Japan, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Embassy of Japan said the non-reimbursable assistance offered by Japan will be used to thermally insulate the building of Kindergarten No.7 of Râșcani town and the building of the “Olimp” Theoretical Lyceum of Puhăceni village of Anenii Noi district.

There will be renovated the sanitary facilities and heating, ventilation and electrical power systems and replaced the windows of the secondary school of Mereșeni village of Hâncești district. The windows and doors of the Cahul Theoretical Lyceum “Dimitrie Cantemir” will also be changed.

The six grants are provided by Japan as part of the “Kusanone” Program that was launched in Moldova in 2008. In 2008-2020, Japan offered non-reimbursable financial assistance totaling over US$5.3 million for 65 projects most of which were in the fields of education and healthcare.
