Six persons were rushed to the hospital after they suffered injuries in a collision between two minibus at the intersection of the Chisinau streets Dacia and Bacioii Noi in the afternoon of May 8. The route minibus by which they travelled collided with a freight minibus.
Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati has told IPN that a minibus running on the Chisinau – Olanesti route was heading for the capital city, from the direction of the airport, while the freight minibus was coming from the opposite direction and was to turn left. Preliminary investigations showed the driver of the freight minibus didn’t give way to the passenger minibus and the vehicles collided.
Natalia Stati said the punishment for the driver to blame will be set depending on the severity of the injuries suffered by those hurt, which will be determined within the medical-legal examination. If the traumas are of light or medium severity, the person will be punished with a fine of 1,000 lei and six penalty points. If the injuries are serious, the driver will be investigated criminally.
Contacted by phone by IPN, the head of the Emergency Medicine Department Ciprian Gherasim said the hurt persons are aged between 32 and 96. They suffered injuries of medium gravity and are now being examined. Depending on the examination results, it will be decided who will be admitted to the hospital and in what sections.
