Situation of students in Transnistrian region uncertain

The Government has two solutions for the 18 schools located in the Transnistrian region: either to extend their winter vacation or to switch them to online education, IPN reports.

Minister of Education Dan Perciun on Monday said that he managed to discuss for several times with the directors of all the institutions managed by the Moldovan authorities. Therefore, according to the minister, the students could have an extended vacation or could study online, but the problem of internet connections must be solved for the second variant to be implemented.

"There are problems related to computers and internet access. We are going to think about how to satisfy these needs," noted Dan Perciun.

According to the minister, most of the heads of institutions proposed switching to online education, if the technical aspects are resolved. Dan Perciun did not set a concrete deadline in this regard, but assured that, in the immediate period, decisions will be made depending on the developments, and the costs will be covered with state budget resources or with the foreign partners’ support.
