Situation in CMC ‘painful’ for Serafim Urecheanu
The president of Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN), Serafim Urecheanu, describes the situation in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) as ‘painful’ for him, who had been Mayor of Chisinau during 11 years, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Iurie Rosca was the main person behind the events in the City Council,” Urecheanu said at a news conference on September 3. “When we signed the document whereby four political parties formed a majority in the CMC, I gave my hand (to Iurie Rosca e.n.) over the table not by mistake, but with suspicion,” the AMN president said.
Speaking about the dismissal of the Liberal Party president Mihai Ghimpu from the post of CMC chairman and the appointment of the secretary of the Social Democratic Party Eduard Musuc to this post, Urecheanu said that this is a relevant example of the positions of certain leaders. “Musuc won all the cases and does whatever he wants,” the AMN leader said.
According to Urechean, if the political leaders do not honor the commitments they made to the voters, the future of the CMC is bleak.
Asked about the work of the current Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, the former mayor said that he made certain progress, but the team and the situation created in the CMC do not help him. Serafim Urecheanu considers that the mayor should leave politics aside and concentrate on the problems of the Chisinau residents.
In another development, Urecheanu said that Dorin Chirtoaca did not ask for his advice. “The only piece of advice I gave him was not to drive the car. Then I went on holiday and was informed about what happened” (Dorin Chirtoaca had a car accident this winter e.n.). At the same time, Urecheanu considers that many things would have been different if consultations had been held, but the difficulties will only make Dorin Chirtoaca only stronger.
