Situation at three other banks subjected to raider attacks hasn't been solved yet

The raider attacks haven't directly impacted on the situation in the banking sector, stated Dorin Dragutanu, the governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), Info-Prim Neo reports. “If we analyze the results of the banking sector's activity in the third quarter of this year, in terms of deposits, credits and profits, for example, we can see that these indicators haven't been affected in any way that could be associated with those raider attacks. What happened was inside the banks subjected to those attacks. Some stocks just changed hands. If the internal situation of the banks in question isn't handled with speediness and the interests involved are significant or controlling, that the situation in the future could indeed worsen”, said the governor. Dragutanu expressed his satisfaction that the European shareholders in Moldova-Agroindbank were given back their 28% of stocks. “At the three other banks, however, the situation hasn't been solved yet, and the solution, as I already said, resides within the judicial system. Because this is exactly where the problems originated in the first place and this exactly how the problems were solved in the case of Moldova-Agroindbank. That is, the shares were given back through a decision of the Supreme Court, not another way. Thus, in the case of the other banks, too, shareholders make efforts through court to reclaim their shares”, said Dorin Dragutanu.
