SIS transferred back under Parliament’s management

The bill by which the Security and Intelligence Service is transferred from the President’s subordination under the Parliament’s management was given two readings. It was adopted by the votes of the Socialist and Shor Party MPs while the opposition MPs were protesting, IPN reports.

The bill was adopted without being examined, only based on the proposal of the legal commission for appointments and immunities. The commission’s chairman Vasile Bolea said the commission proposed that the bill should be voted in the first and second (final) readings.

The opposition criticized the given bill. A protest was mounted in front of the Parliament Building today. President-elect Maia Sandu called on the people to stop the Dodon-Shor oligarchic majority from usurping the power. ”It is an anti-democratic abuse planned by the person who lost the elections and the people’s trust,” Maia Sandu stated in a press briefing.
