The Russian Federation's strategy applied in this year's elections in the Republic of Moldova will continue next year, when parliamentary elections are to be held. It is the infiltration of affiliated or controlled individuals and entities into the political environment with the aim of gaining control over the parliament and other institutions in the country. The statements were made by the director of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), Alexandru Musteata, and were made in the plenary of the parliament, where hearings were held on the electoral fraud reported during the presidential elections and the republican referendum, IPN reports.
"This strategy relies on political and electoral corruption, disinformation and manipulation, as well as street actions and disorder", the SIS director said.
Alexandru Musteata said that the operational data shows that the criminal group Sor, led by Ilan Sor, is the main executor of the Russian Federation's objectives.
"In order to achieve the objective of compromising the referendum, but also the presidential elections, the Russian factor has provided the criminal group Shoror with the whole spectrum of instruments - hybrid, financial, media, human, logistical, technical, counterinformative and combative, with which it has acted in stages", the SIS director said.
Alexandru Musteata also said that the Russian Federation's strategy is based on political and electoral corruption, disinformation and manipulation, as well as street actions and disorder.
