Simplified procedure for introducing cosmetic products from EU into Moldova

The procedure for placing cosmetic products that are already registered in the European Union on the market in the Republic of Moldova has been simplified. Thus, the free movement of cosmetic products on the domestic and international markets will be facilitated. The Cabinet updated the Sanitary Regulations on cosmetic products, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Health said that the new regulations on cosmetic products will ensure the quality and safety of these products, protecting consumers and maintaining high standards for the industry.

The draft regulates the labelling of cosmetic products, the prohibition of hazardous substances and the creation of a notification system for placing cosmetic products on the market.

“Noncompliant cosmetic products can contain ingredients that are not evaluated or approved as safe and that can have serious side effects. Toxic substances or substances with carcinogenic potential can contribute to the development of chronic diseases or to an increase in the incidence of cancer. Studies showed that certain compounds in cosmetic products can affect the hormonal health of the individual,” said the Ministry.
