MEP Siegfried Mureșan believes that the massive turnout at the European Parliament elections in the Republic of Moldova is a strong argument for all of Europe that the people of Moldova have a say in the direction followed by the European Union.

“Your trust and vote make me ambitious to work even more for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova. Thank you, dear colleagues and sympathizers from the Republic of Moldova, for all the support you gave to me in these elections,” Siegfried Mureșan wrote on Facebook, being quoted by IPN.

The MEP congratulated the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with a Romanian passport, who participated in the June 9 elections in record numbers. Almost 57,000 people voted at the polling stations established in Moldova, an increase of 50% compared to the previous European elections. 55.2% of the electors voted the list of candidates of the National Liberal Party.
