Short-term academic mobility for Moldovan and Romanian students

Fifty young people from Moldova and another 25 from Romania will be able to obtain short-term academic mobility scholarships, intended for students and persons studying for a master’s degree, to study at the state universities of the two countries, the Ministry of Education of Moldova informs in a communiqué, quoted by IPN.

The exchange of scholarships for one-two quarters will be possible owing to a cooperation program signed by Moldovan Minister of Education Maia Sandu and her Romanian counterpart Remus Pricopie in Chisinau on February 21, on the sidelines of a Moldovan-Romanian scientific forum.

The scholars of this program will benefit from budget-funded studies, free accommodation at dorms and scholarships equal to the minimum consumer basket of the state on whose territory the mobility program is implemented, based on reciprocity principles.

The Ministry of Education will annually need about 450,000 lei to pay mobility scholarships to Romanian students who will study in Moldova.
