The representative of the Shor Party to the Central Election Commission Vadim Banaru filed an appeal against the decision to exclude the party’s candidate for the mayoralty of Bălți municipality Marina Tuber to the Supreme Court of Justice, IPN reports.

In a press briefing on December 5, Vadim Banaru said that if the Supreme Court’s does not rule in favor of Marina Tauber, the party will go to the European Court of Human Rights. The decision to suspend the snap mayoral runoff that were to take place in Bălți on December 5 is abusive, illegal and violates the right to free elections, the right to vote and to stand as a candidate in elections.

CEC president Angela Caraman, in another press briefing on December 5, said the runoff vote in Bălți was suspended and the final and executory Bălți Appeals Court’s decision to remove Marina Tauber from the runoff was this way implemented.

Angela Caraman noted that by a CEC decision of December 1, they ascertained the use by the Shor Party’s electoral contender Marina Tauber of undeclared financial and nonfinancial resources, with the set limit being exceeded. This was the second such violation committed by Marina Tauber, which was ascertained by a CEC decision of November 20 and was confirmed by the Supreme Court of Justice on November 29. The Commission’s request to exclude Marina Tauber from the electoral rate on December 4 was accepted by the Bălți Court, which ordered that the Bălți District Electoral Council should annul the registration of Marina Taube rasa an electoral contestant. This morning, the Bălți Court decided to reject the appeals filed against it by all the sides involved and to uphold the decision of the ordinary court.
