Shopping MallDova Has Been Awarded the Red Ribbon

The commercial center Shopping MallDova has been awarded the "Red Ribbon" by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the League of People living with AIDS in Moldova in the category "Best private sector organization that has contributed to the national response to AIDS".
The “Red Ribbon” is the global symbol of the movement against AIDS pandemic caused by the HIV infection. The award is designed to honor and celebrate the extraordinary initiatives of the individuals and communities that show involvement and leadership in reducing the spread and impact of AIDS at the national level.
During 2009-2010, Shopping MallDova hosted a series of activities initiated by individuals and non-governmental organizations to the national response to AIDS. Last year, Shopping MallDova in partnership with three non-governmental organizations: "Viaţa Nouă", "Mamele pentru Viaţă”, Representative of the Republic of Moldova of “AIDS Foundation East-West" and the project team "dance4life" held for three days various health activities, dedicated to the World AIDS Day. Volunteers have distributed informational materials and talked to the mall’s visitors about the importance of practicing a healthy lifestyle and protect against HIV infection, audio and video presented on this subject, and collected donations to purchase Christmas gifts for HIV-positive children and those affected by AIDS pandemic from Moldova. "Dance4life", the international symbol of youth involvement in protecting their own health and stop the spread of HIV infection was presented in an interactive manner to visitors.
In July, 2010 the mall’s art gallery hosted the exhibition "Life wins," organized by the Foundation AFEW. The exhibition was aimed at motivating and inspiring for further work to combat the spread of HIV, combat stigma and discrimination towards people living with HIV. Visitors had the opportunity to admire a beautiful exhibition about happiness, optimism and love of life.
This year, on December 1st, Shopping MallDova marked for the second time the World AIDS Day. UNAIDS Moldova in collaboration with World AIDS Campaign, UNFPA in Moldova, the organizations "Viaţa Nouă", "Mamele pentru Viaţă”, the Representative of the Republic of Moldova of “AIDS Foundation East-West", the Regional Center for Community Policies held at the mall a campaign for raising public awareness about the effects of epidemic HIV/AIDS and the importance of measures in this field.
