Sheriff Tiraspol managed a 1-1 away draw against Legia Warsaw in the Europa League qualifiers, IPN reports.
Finnish midfielder Kasper Hamalainen opened the score on 76 minutes, but Sheriff stroke back on 87 minutes. Cyrille Bayala expertly headed Jairo’s corner kick into the net and leveled the score. “Legia plays a similar kind of football to our former opponents, Qarabag. We’ll try to get a win in Tiraspol”, Sheriff coach Roberto Bordin told the post-match press conference.
The second leg will be played in Tiraspol on August 24. The Moldovan champions can reach the Europa League groups even with a 0-0 draw at home. Sheriff have previously played three times in the group stage of the competition.
