Sheriff Tiraspol have managed a second draw in the Europa League group stage, holding the Danish champions FC Copenhagen to a goalless draw on Thursday night.
“We expected a difficult game, but I’m pleased with the performance of my side. We had a few important scoring occasions, but that wasn’t enough to win”, Sheriff manager Roberto Bordin told a press conference.
This follows another goalless draw in Group F with Zlín. Elsewhere in the group, Lokomotiv defeated Zlín, with all the hosts’ goals scored by Manuel Fernandes in the first 17 minutes. After two rounds, Lokomotiv are leading the group with 4 points, with Copenhagen and Sheriff sharing the next spots with 2 points each.
In the next round, Sheriff will host Lokomotiv in Tiraspol on October 19.
