A child from Vatici village of Orhei district was transported to Chisinau in a critical state by the air emergency medicine service to be operated at the Mother and Child Institute. The seven-year-old girl was shot accidentally by her brother from a pneumatic gun. The boy aimed jokingly the gun at his sister and fired it by accident, IPN reports.

The child was subject to surgery. Doctors of the surgical reanimatology section, were the girl is now, said that she is conscious and the dynamics of her state of health after the operation is positive.

Press officer of the Orhei Police Inspectorate Irina Bajura said the gun was kept in a bed in the house and this factor was decisive in the occurrence. In order to avoid such tragic incidents, the police recommend keeping such guns away them from children. Even if a special safe is not needed for storing such a gun, specialists war that it must be kept together with other dangerous objects in places that can be locked as the children, especially the boys, are very curious.
