The police carried out about 35 searches in a tax evasion case that involves seven travel agencies.  Searches were performed in offices, cars and at the homes of managers, from where documents and memory devices were seized.

Contacted by IPN, prosecutor Nicolae Dumbraveanu said this is a case of large-scale tax evasion. The damage caused to the state was assessed at over 3 million lei. It is presumed that decision makers of the seven travel agencies employed schemes to avoid paying taxes.

According to the prosecutor, no one has been yet arrested. The exact number of suspects and their role are to be determined within the investigation. If they are found guilty, the suspects will serve up to six years in jail.
