A center intended to offer information and psycho-pedagogical assistance to children in situations of risk  is to be launched in the municipality of Chisinau. The municipal division for children’s rights protection said assistance will be provided to children who were subject to violence, those neglected by parents and children who beg and run away from home or live on the street.

The goal is to ensure the social protection of children and exclude abuses against children. The service envisions the staging of information activities directly on the street and social-educative measures to determine the children in situations of risk to go to community centers intended for them.

Contacted by IPN, the division’s acting head Lucia Caciuc said the center is a day service with the capacity of 15 places. The beneficiaries will enjoy social, psychological and pedagogical assistance and could take a shower and wash their clothes at the center.

The launch of the service was announced for February 15.
