Sergiu Litvinenco accuses law enforcement agencies of intimidating PAS mayors. PGO reacts

PAS candidate for MP Sergiu Litvinenco said a number of public functionaries were instructed by their superiors to analyze the information about the candidates of the Party of Action and Solidarity that is available in state databases. Also, the local subdivisions of the National Anticorruption Center and the Prosecutor General’s Office are looking for information about the PAS mayors with the aim of intimidating them, IPN reports.

In a post on Facebook, the politician says the institution heads who obeyed Dodon’s orders and gave illegal instructions are incompatible with the held posts and will have to be dismissed after elections. They can yet revoke their illegal decisions and avoid liability this way. “If two-three persons report the wrongdoing, I assure you that the chiefs will stop giving such orders. And don’t forget that the mandate of the chiefs who break the law will soon end. I urge you to obey the law,” said Sergiu Litvinenco, addressing the public functionaries.

In a reaction, the PGO categorically denied Sergiu Litvinenco’s assertions, saying these are sterile accusations that are part of political PR and that generate confusion in society and distrust in the state institutions. They are irresponsible and counterproductive and form part of a series of attempts to engage the PGO in the settlement of political conflicts. The Prosecutor General’s Office calls on all the election contenders to show common sense and behave intelligently and to avoid slandering and interfering in the administration of justice during the election campaign.
