The governor of the National Bank of Moldova Sergiu Cioclea put forward Vladimir Munteanu and Cristina Harea for the posts of vice governor of the Bank. Parliament is to examine the candidates, IPN reports.
According to the legislature’s press service, Speaker Andrian Candu said he will request the legal commission for appointments and immunities to examine the candidates as a matter of urgency so that the issue could be included in the Parliament’s agenda as soon as possible.
In the discussions with the Speaker, the governor presented the current situation at the National Bank of Moldova, the developments and the actions taken to improve and strengthen the national financial-banking system.
The officials also discussed the implementation of the measures aimed at fulfilling the IMF’s conditions for signing a new program with the Republic of Moldova and for providing technical assistance for rehabilitating the financial-banking system.
