Sergey Toma: We will remove government infected with corruption and stealing

The citizens of the Republic of Moldova can no longer live with a government infected with corruption and stealing. All those who have ruled during the past 20 years should be removed, said the president of the Labor People’s Party Sergey Toma, who intends to compete in the November 1 presidential elections. “We can no longer live in such a chaos, with poor pensioners who worked in agriculture all their life and have the lowest pensions, when prosecutors have by 800,000 lei salaries a year,” Sergey Toma stated in a news conference at IPN.

The candidate proposed by the Labor People’s Party for President said he will manage to remove the government, MPs and mafia clans, which have TV channels, took part in the banking fraud and created parties with the stolen funds, only with the people’s support.

“We can no longer wait as the rulers infected with the corruption disease will come again. After consulting the people, we will hold a referendum to vote for barring all those who ruled during the past 20 years from ruling. They are infected and sick with corruption and there are firms, people around them who do not want to do anything for the country. They think only about themselves. They made laws by which their property cannot be confiscated,” stated Sergey Toma.

Actor Sergiu Voloc called on the citizens to mobilize and sign in favor of Sergey Toma, noting this candidate can be a guarantor or a direct representative of the people. “No institution in our country works. We must be active and through the agency of the President reach out to justice, which should be reformed, and to the police, which need to be reeducated,“ he stated.

According to the actor, culture in the Republic of Moldova is weak and needs to be reorganized. “During these pandemic situations, culture suffers a lot. The state did nothing to help it. Many famous people of culture hold jobs that do not represent them,” noted Sergiu Voloc.

Civic activist Anatolii Kobolskii also urged the citizens to sign in support of the registration of Sergey Toma as a candidate in the electoral race, and by signing to assume responsibility that by giving their vote they will ask Sergey Toma to account for what he did. “Don’t be afraid to put questions. Your vote is important. No one has the right to shut you up and not to answer to you,” he stated.

The initiative group for collecting signatures in support of Sergey Toma’s candidacy for President was registered with the Central Election Commission. To be registered as a contender, the nominated candidates must present 15,000 to 25,000 signatures to the CEC.
