Senior officials to visit districts to mark Local Self-Government Day

On the Day of Local Self-Government and Local Public Administration Workers, President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu will go to different town in the country to express their support for the employees of thelocal administration, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the President’s Office, Maia Sandu will be in Calarasi, along with hundreds of mayors and representatives of the local public aauthorities. Igor Grosu will take part in the events organized in Cahul, and Dorin Recean will visit Balti.  

"This day is an opportunity to recognize the effort and dedication of the workers of the local public administration, but also a moment of reflection on the progress we have made together for the citizens and the steps we must take next," said President Sandu.

The Day of Local Self-Government and Local Public Administration Workers was instituted in the Republic of Moldova in 2012.
