Sappers of National Army deactivate 7 bombs
In the first days of November the sappers of the National Army (AN) deactivated 7 explosive weapons.
According to the head of the Sapper Service of AN, lieutenant-colonel Alexandru Galasan, the event took place on Tuesday November 7. During the roadworks of the Causeni – Stefan Voda roadway, a 122 mm caliber German land mine has been discovered. The shell was transported to a protected block and has been neutralized by the pioneer group from the Sapper Battalion, led by lieutenant Sergiu Chilivnic.
Other 6 explosives have been discovered by the peasants from Panasesti village, Straseni raion, during farm works, and also in Rascaieti village, Stefan Voda raion. All those 7 explosives dated back to the Second World War.
During the current year sappers destroyed 200 explosives, found in villages, on fields or public roads.
