Russians sends other vehicles with humanitarian aid to Tiraspol
The second motor convoy loaded with humanitarian aid from Russia is expected in the self-proclaimed republic of Transnistrian soon, the Transnistrian media has quoted Victor Guzun, head of the Tiraspol-based Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as saying at a news conference.
He said that „Russia realises the difficult situation faced by Transnistria, so that many regions have posted readiness to provide humanitarian aids.” According to Guzun, representatives of Transnistria, including the coordinator of humanitarian aids, Yuri Ganin, are in Moscow for a long time, establishing contacts with Russian regions which stand ready to grant humanitarian aid. The list of goods needed by Transnistria and negotiated with regions includes first-need goods, while finances for sustenance of the „Transnistrian people” will be transferred to special accounts.
According to Guzun, the situation in the region has captured the attention of the Moscow administration and President Vladimir Putin is discussing this issue with the director of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Evgeni Primakov.
The first motor convoy carrying Russian humanitarian aid arrived in Tiraspol on March 24, 24 days after the new customs regime was introduced at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.
