“We do not want NATO”, “Without NATO involvement”, “NATO is worse than Gestapo”- these are the slogans chanted by the over 30 members of the Russian Youth League in Moldova, who protested in front of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Chisinau on Friday. They said they do not want NATO to get involved in the resolution of the Transnistrian dispute, Info-Prim Neo reports. The protest comes in reaction to NATO representatives’ assertions that the organization is in favor of solving the Transnistrian dispute and is ready to intervene. “We are not against assistance from countries, but we do not want to receive support from NATO, which is a military bloc. Its involvement in the settlement of any conflict would result in military conflicts,” said Ana Postari, a member of the League. The protesters said the involvement of the NATO in the resolution of the Transnistrian dispute would be like its involvement in former Yugoslavia or in Libya. “The danger is imminent if NATO interferes in Moldova’s internal affairs. Where there is NATO, there is blood. We do not want a second Yugoslavia,” added Ana Postari. The young people said this is their first protest against the involvement of NATO in the Transnistrian conflict and they intend to stage more such events.
