Russian oppositionist Boris Nemtsov was killed in the center of Moscow in the evening of February 27.Acoridng to Interfax, an individual fired on Nemtsov and the politician died on the spot, IPN reports.
The official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Vladimir Markin said about seven shots were fired at the politician from a vehicle passing nearby. At least four bullets reached Boris Nemtsov.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia said several versions of the assassination are being examined. One of them is related to the political activity of Boris Nemtsov, while another one to private affairs.
President Vladimir Putin announced that he will personally monitor the investigation into this case.
